Trainer on top with Liddell - Hackelman Helped Mold Champion
Chuck Liddell's first professional fight was a kickboxing match around 1991 at ancient Strongbow Stadium in Bakersfield, Calif. Fighters were expected to report by 5 p.m., but Liddell's fight wasn't until the end of the card. He didn't get into the ring until after 11 p.m.

The Iceman Featured in the LA Times
Chuck Liddell has heard Tito Ortiz's explanations for losing their first fight, and he isn't buying any of them.  "His back was hurt, I poked him in the eye, we were friends … yeah," Liddell said last week. "He's never had a loss where he didn't have an excuse afterward, and he'll find some excuse this time too, after I knock him out."

Hackleman Keeps It Old School for Liddell
Shawn Kemp. Randy Moss. James “Buster” Douglas. What do those three names have in common? For starters, each was an elite professional athlete. Amazing natural athletic talent and hard work elevated them to or near the top of their respective sport. Then, their athletic greatness was rewarded with a contract that amounted to what ESPN’s Tom Jackson likes to call “$%&#-you” money. You know, it is the kind of money that makes everything in life free—the kind of money where nobody can tell you a damn thing.

Will the Liddell vs. Ortiz II fight Elevate UFC Above Boxing?
2006 will end with a bang for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) with a star studded pay per view fight card on Saturday night, December 30th. The much anticipated main event will feature Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell defending the title against "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" Tito Ortiz. The MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada is primed to be ready to roar with two of the top light heavyweights in the world fighting for the title. Liddell is widely recognized as perhaps the most dangerous fighter in mixed martial arts (MMA) in the United States.
