Josh Wins at World Victory Road "Sengoku"
TOKYO – Almost one year after the demise of Pride Fighting Championships, new Japanese promotion World Victory Road held it’s first event on Wednesday in Yoyogi Gymnasium. After a long period of uncertainty, Japanese fans were treated to Sengoku, the first of two impressive fight cards in a ten-day period. The card was littered with fighters who waited for the void from Pride’s demise to be filled.
 
Road Leads to Yoshida-Barnett in March
World Victory Road has confirmed that Japanese star Hidehiko Yoshida will meet Josh Barnett in the main event of the promotion's March 5 debut card at Yoyogi National Gymnasium No. 1 in Tokyo, Japan.

Josh Barnett, ranked as the No.3 heavyweight mixed martial artist in the world by MMAWeekly.com, had a very busy year in 2006. Fighting seven times in that span, he amassed a 5-2 record against some of the top competition in the world.

Unfortunately, in 2007, he has yet to fight once.

Josh will be one of the featured coaches on the upcoming episode –“MMA: America’s Extreme Fighting”- on The History Channel’s The Human Weapon. The episode airs September 28th at 10pm. Josh will be one of the coaches the hosts will visit on the martial journey along with Bas Rutten and Randy Couture to name a few.
