Chuck Liddell on the Cover of Special-Edition MMA Unlimited Magazine

Chuck Liddell is seen as one of the coolest fighters in the UFC. His signature style has spawned a host of imitators and his laid-back attitude and fun-loving demeanor is a huge factor in his popularity with fans. However, in the Octagon, Chuck is ice cold.

Known for being one of the most devastating strikers, "The Iceman" is all about business when it comes to fighting, and as he makes clear before every match, he is there to knock his opponent out. It's what made Chuck a fan favorite, and with 8 KOs and another 5 TKOs in his 21 victories, viewers expect to see him land his trademark lopping punches with brutal effect.

Having fought all but six of his MMA bouts in the UFC, Chuck has been with the promotion since 1998 when he first appeared to take a decision win on UFC 17: Redemption. By 2004 the Iceman was reigning supreme over the light-heavyweight decision and it seemed that nothing could touch him.

Next up for Chuck is a fight with Mauricio "Shogun" Rua at UFC 98 in Montreal, Canada. Interestingly, this event is also titled "Redemption," just like Liddell's first UFC fight, and the California native is hoping to once more display his patented striking prowess and leave his Brazilian opponent asleep on the canvas.

"I am very excited about this fight," says a suddenly very animated Liddell. "It's the first time I get to fight in Canada and this is going to be a good fight for the fans. It's the kind of fight the fans want to see and I am very excited about the opportunity to get the knock-out win."

Rua is a product of the infamous Chute Boxe camp and a BJJ black-belt with excellent striking skills, so it'll be interesting to see how he matches up against Liddell's style. The Iceman possesses great wrestling and takedown defense, good ground skills, and devastating KO power. But he feels he has the measure of the Brazilian in one crucial aspect.

"I am going to go after him. I am going to pressure him and make him prove that he is in shape. Basically I am going to try to knock his head off."
