The Iceman takes on Dancing with the Stars
Chuck will be one of the contestants on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” when its new season begins on Sept. 21.
“I want to win,” Liddell told the media. “I don’t like losing in anything, so I’ll work as hard as they’ll let me. “I’m gonna go out, be myself, and show what kind of people we do have in this sport,” he said. “I’m sure the reaction will be mixed [among fight fans]. My friends are gonna be excited, and I’ll never hear the end of it because they’ll make fun of me, but it should be fun and I think everyone will like it.”
The remainder of the Season 9 cast is former Texas Rep. Tom DeLay (the former majority leader in the House of Representatives); former Dallas Cowboys wideout Michael Irvin; vocalists Mya, Macy Gray and Aaron Carter; actress Melissa Joan Hart; former supermodel and current furniture and fashion designer Kathy Ireland; model Joanna Krupa; Kelly Osbourne (formerly of the reality-TV sensation “The Osbournes”); professional snowboarder Louie Vito; Olympic swimming gold medalist Natalie Coughlin; Mark Dacascos of Food Network’s “Iron Chef America”; and actors Debi Mazar and Ashley Hamilton (the son of film icon George Hamilton).
The cast was revealed in Times Square by “DWTS” host Tom Bergeron. He also said a three-week, double-elimination round has been added to the middle of the season. Samantha Harris is back as his co-host. Ballroom dance judge Len Goodman and choreographer-dancers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba will be the judges.
