THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER

Chris Leben: On the first night in the house, Leben, along with others, got really drunk and pissed on Josh Thacken´s bed. After getting sprayed down with a hose by some other teammates, Leben went over the edge, punching through a window and then tearing down a bedroom door. Blood was everywhere.

Diego Sanchez: Las Vegas is prone to lightening storms. Diego would practice yoga outside when a good one hit, convinced he could harness the electricity. It must have worked; Sanchez eventually won his division on the show.

Forrest Griffin: He was often the target of other player´s boredom. His roommates would punch him in the face for no reason other than to get a laugh. Griffin also won his division.

Outside of the personalities, this show was about training and fighting. Coaches Liddell and Courture pushed both teams to their limits in a series of intense competitions using their trademark unorthodox disciplines. When it was time to fight there was a $5000 bonus for any fighter who forced a submission or knocked out his opponent.

Both winners were on Team Liddell.

Once the show was in the can, Dana knew that he had a great series. The fledgling network SPIKE TV had just decided against renewing the WWE. “The Ultimate Fighter” was a perfect match for their schedule. With the show already produced, the network had little to lose.
